The Genealogy Workshop

Thursday, May 166:00—7:30 PMLarge Conference RoomKimball Library5 Academy Ave, Atkinson, NH, 03811

This is a meet up group for all those who are currently working on or are ready to begin their genealogy research. Regardless if you are interested in exploring local Atkinson History or wanting to research your family history, we invite you each month. We will meet at the Library and sometimes visit next door with the Atkinson Historic Society. The Genealogy Workshop is a forum to ask questions of the group about genealogy research and to share resources and successes. Members should plan to bring their work or the brick walls they have encountered so we can review and discuss. The Library offers public Wi-Fi access for those who wish to bring their research on their personal devices or access Ancestry Library Edition which is free to use within the building. The Genealogy Workshop is sponsored by the Kimball Library and the Atkinson Historical Society.

The Genealogy Workshop is organized and run by Lucia Cusimano.  Lucia Cusimano holds a certificate in genealogical studies from Boston University. She completed the 2020/2021 ProGen Study Group, an intensive fourteen-month study of Professonal Genealogy, and has attended several genealogical institutes, conferences, and webinars, focusing on traditional and Italian research. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), The New England Chapter (NEAPG), and several local and Italian genealogical groups. She began her own business, Magnifying the Past, Genealogy Research in 2020, and currently contracts with Lo Schiavo Genealogica as an Italian Dual Citizenship Specialist and researcher. In addition, she is a Pilot Member of NOKFinders, as a researcher. NOKfinders specializes in finding next of kin for Missing and Unclaimed Person Cases. Lucia is a member of the Atkinson Historical Society, currently in the position of secretary while also assisting with research and family histories.
