"Listen to me" Developing Better Communication and Listening Skills

Thursday, November 216:00—7:30 PMMeeting RoomKimball Library5 Academy Ave, Atkinson, NH, 03811

Why does it seem that people often talk over each other, or in circles? How can we avoid this by improving how we listen to each other?  This talk will help identify what traps we fall into, and how we can work to overcome them.

Presenter, Lizzie Linn, has been teaching in higher education for over 15 years. She received her BA in Philosophy/Religion and her MA in Critical and Creative Thinking. She is working on completing her doctoral studies in Educational Leadership.  Her dissertation focuses on self-awareness and well-being in higher education. She currently teaches interdisciplinary studies at Merrimack College.  Her curriculum also includes a unit on “The Science of Happiness” which looks at happiness through the lens of positive psychology.
